In January 2020, the Government of Belize signed into law the Environmental Protection (Pollution from Plastics) Resolution, which seeks to phase out single-use plastics, including shopping bags, food utensils, and Styrofoam.
This announcement further increased the motivation for businesses to go green in an effort to protect Belize’s invaluable marine resources.
