Protect Massachusetts from Plastic Pollution

Massachusetts’ beaches, waterways, and communities need your voice. Take action today to help fight plastic pollution in our beautiful state.

Plastic pollution is harming our ocean, beaches, and the wildlife that depends on them. Along U.S. coasts, Oceana found that nearly 1,800 sea turtles and marine mammals had swallowed or become entangled in plastic between 2009 and 2020. Nearly 90% of them were listed as endangered or threatened under the Endangered Species Act.

Thankfully, the Massachusetts state legislature is considering an environmental bond bill that could reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in the ocean and our communities by phasing out unnecessary single-use plastic products, including carry-out bags and small hotel toiletry bottles.

By taking action right now, you can help protect our waterways and marine life from plastic pollution.

Tell your state legislators to prioritize the reduction of single-use plastics in the final Mass Ready Act.
