During the World Cup, fans come together to watch thrilling matches and cheer for our favorite teams. But we don’t want to leave millions of discarded single-use plastic bottles and cups behind. As a longstanding FIFA partner and event sponsor, you can prevent this from happening by helping establish reusable cup systems at FIFA World Cup 26™ stadiums and fan festivals.

Fans know that the game we love has the power to inspire action and change the world. That’s why we’re calling on you to be a reuse champion. We want to see Coca-Cola take bold action by prioritizing and promoting reuse across all venues of the World Cup. One reusable cup can replace over 100 single-use cups, preventing them from entering the waste stream and potentially polluting the environment and our oceans. Just a 10-percentage point increase in reusable beverage packaging globally by 2030 could eliminate over 1 trillion single-use plastic bottles and cups!

Single-use plastic is threatening our health and hurting the environment. We can’t stand by while plastic waste pollutes our seas, harms wildlife, and fills our bodies with microplastics. Scientific studies show plastic is everywhere: in the air we breathe, the food we eat, and the water we drink. It’s been found in our hearts, lungs, brains, blood, and even in breast milk. Scientists warn that plastic and the chemicals used to make it are linked to cancer, infertility, heart disease, autism, and diabetes.

Fans and athletes everywhere are demanding change. Before the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games — the biggest sporting event ever to serve drinks in reusable cups — over 100 elite athletes and sports organizations called on Coca-Cola to ditch single-use plastic. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) delivered too, rolling out reusable cups at all European Championship 2024 stadiums in Germany. Clubs and stadiums around the world are showing that reuse works.

Now it’s time for FIFA World Cup 26™ to kickstart reuse. Help build the infrastructure now and make reuse the standard at every stadium and fan festival where you are a sponsor and sell your drinks.
