Join the #ReuseForTheWin Movement!
The FIFA World Cup 26™ — sponsored by Coca-Cola — will be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States in 2026, bringing one of the world’s most-watched sporting events to 16 cities across the three countries. In the run up to the event, organizers and sponsors like Coca-Cola had a major opportunity to make a lasting impact for the planet through prioritizing reuse, instead of single-use plastic.
Replacing single-use plastic bottles and cups with reusable options at stadiums and fan festivals can prevent millions of plastic containers from entering the waste stream and potentially polluting the environment and the oceans.
But that opportunity is now slipping away. Despite public calls for more reuse by fans, athletes, and environmental organizations, World Cup venues are expected to sell most drinks in single-use packaging. And days before kick-off, FIFA banned fans from bringing their own reusable bottles into stadiums.
Coca-Cola and FIFA can and should do better.
The game we love can inspire real change. Help eliminate single-use plastic waste and protect our oceans by calling for reusable cup systems and personal reusable bottles at World Cup stadiums and fan festivals. Tell Coca-Cola and FIFA to commit to reuse and help kick single-use plastic waste out of our sports stadiums once and for all.
