Did you know that plastic has been found everywhere from the deepest part of the ocean and remote mountain ranges to our bodies — even in our lungs and blood?

Join West Falmouth Village Association, West Falmouth Library, Oceana, Surfrider Foundation — Cape and Islands Chapter and Care for the Cape and Islands for a free screening of the new documentary “We’re All Plastic People Now,” by Emmy award-winning filmmaker Rory Fielding. The film asks the pertinent question: how much evidence do we need before we decide to take action?

“Rory Fielding’s timely new documentary ‘We Are All Plastic People Now’ shows the chilling reality of how pervasive plastic pollution is in our lives. Plastic is everywhere from the air we breathe to the water we drink. Solving the plastic pollution crisis requires that we curb plastic production and cut off the problem at the source. Americans are sick of plastic pollution; 83% of American voters are concerned about single-use plastic products. Reuse and refill systems are the alternatives we need to move us away from throwaway single-use plastics. The future can include less plastic if we turn off the tap and invest in reuse together.” — Christy Leavitt, Oceana Plastics Campaign Director.

Following the film there will be a brief panel discussion and time for Q&A, an update on newly introduced State legislation addressing plastics pollution, and participants will be encouraged to "take action."
