There's still time to become a member
Our fall membership drive is over, but you can still become a member!
Covering over 70% of our planet, our oceans are home to much of Earth’s biodiversity, play a pivotal role in climate regulation, and are a critical source of food and jobs for billions of people around the world. In 2000, less than 1% of the waters off the countries where Oceana currently operates were protected. Today, thanks to campaigning by Oceana and our allies, about 17% of those waters are now protected. But the vast majority of our oceans are still unprotected, and we know that when our oceans are well protected, they thrive. That’s why we need you!
When you become an Oceana member, you’re fueling our campaigns to protect critical ocean habitat – and the marine wildlife that inhabit the oceans – from harrowing threats like overfishing, bottom trawling, and other destructive fishing practices.
With you by our side, we know we can protect and restore ocean abundance and biodiversity for generations to come.
The oceans need you. Donate to become an Oceana member today!
