Give to protect loggerhead sea turtles
Endangered turtles need more protection
Loggerhead sea turtles are routinely caught by shrimp trawls, dragged along in a net until they drown or are pulled up.
It’s a horrible death for an animal already at risk from fishing hooks, oil spills, climate change and more. But instead of making a real plan to save these endangered turtles, the federal government has proposed just thin stretches of protected habitat only one mile out to sea from shore.
Without scientifically-based protected areas that cover feeding and breeding grounds and that help keep sea turtles safe from the most dangerous fisheries, this proposal is nearly meaningless.
We need you to join us in fighting for a REAL protection plan for loggerhead sea turtles. Please give today to protect sea turtles and the world’s oceans.
