Turtles and Whales Caught in Walls of Death
Your donation can help us keep marine animals safe from deadly nets
Deadly drift gillnets are threatening the lives of endangered turtles, whales and more off the coast of California. These mile-long nets, left out overnight to catch swordfish, create an underwater "wall of death" for anything unlucky enough to swim into them. Among the animals caught are leatherback sea turtles, sperm whales and dolphins.
These nets should be banned, but instead the fishery may soon expand. Oceana is working hard to fight against the use of these deadly nets, but we can't do it alone. Your gift can help us protect turtles and other threatened marine animals in California and across the globe.
All donations to Oceana support our efforts to protect the world's oceans. Oceana seeks to make our oceans as rich, healthy, and abundant as they once were. Oceana, Inc. is tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, so contributions may be tax-deductible. After donating, you will receive a receipt by email.
