Stop the killing of dolphins and whales in drift gillnets

Act now to support AB 2019 and stop this deadly practice

This pilot whale is one of the many victims of California's drift gillnets, a devastating fishing practice that’s responsible for the deaths of one hundred marine mammals on average every year off the coast of California.

These nets, intended to catch swordfish and thresher sharks, kill indiscriminately, threatening endangered species like sperm whales and sea turtles. A new bill introduced by California Assemblymember Fong can put a stop to these deadly nets, leaving room for a safer, more responsible swordfish fishery in California waters.

Help stop this atrocity. Sign to tell California legislators and Governor Jerry Brown to support AB 2019 and ban deadly drift gillnets from waters off California.
