Hold the Mercury

A number of grocery stores have joined Oceana's Green List by by posting seafood counter signs about the FDA mercury advice for women of childbearing age and children to avoid or limit certain types of fish because of their mercury levels. Shouldn't yours too?

Many families need more information about mercury in seafood. An EPA scientist has estimated that one in ten women has enough mercury in her body to pose neurological risks to her developing fetus and seafood is the primary way people are exposed to mercury.
